River Valley HS Names Adam King New Head Football Coach

AZSportsnetwork mentioned many weeks ago that former Mohave OC Adam King was going to be named the next football head coach at River Valley High School. After much discussion with Admin, parents, players and local coaches we can now say this has been confirmed.

Head Coach King has already met with the players and today starts the beginning of his leadership as the new head coach at River Valley HS as players will be starting their road to the 2023 season today.

Coach King was the former OC for Mohave High School so he is well versed in the River Valley football program. After talking to former coaches who have worked with Coach King they said he is no-nonsense and should bring discipline to the program. He is a single wing guy but it is still unknown what type of offense he will run with a very young BUT talented River Valley team. Many people think the single wing is just a running offense with the old “3 yards and a cloud of dust” but that is far from true.

With the hiring of Coach King River Valley Admin as well as the community are hoping he brings back the stability that former HC Clark did for the program when he helped turn River Valley into a top contender in the 3A division even though they have 2A division numbers.

To say 2022 was a disappointment is an understatement as they missed the playoffs and did not repeat as Region Champs. That went to rival Mohave High school who made it to the playoffs while River Valley stayed home.

With naming King as head coach now this guarantees that River Valley will have a very stable spring off-season as well as a productive summer season. This was all but gone last year as former HC Hall was not available to do the off-season training which is so important to any football program.

This stability which Head Coach King will bring to the program is sorely needed as the region has included more teams from 4A who have dropped down for a lack of success but we know after Yuma went 7-3 last year the bigger enrollment teams who move down can have success very quickly.

Look for Head Coach King to have his River Valley team ready to make a run at the region championship as well as a state title!
